Dental CROWN

Dental Crown

A dental crown is a hollow, artificial tooth used to cover a damaged or decayed tooth’s entire chewing surface. Dental crowns are recommended when the tooth has been endodontically treated, severely broken, or worn down. Crowns can also be used to cover a discolored or misshapen tooth to improve aesthetics.

BRIDGE

A bridge is a dental procedure done to replace one or more missing teeth. It extends across an area with no teeth and is typically made up of an artificial tooth fused between 2 crowns. The bridge is held firmly in place by your teeth on each side of the missing one(s) or by dental implants. Your Casa Dental dentist will recommend the most appropriate type of bridge for you, depending on the missing tooth’s location (or teeth) and the condition of your teeth, mouth, and gums.

CROWN LENGTHENING

Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure performed by a dentist, or more frequently, a specialist periodontist. There are several reasons for considering crown lengthening in a treatment plan.

At Casa Dental, our dentists may recommend having a crown lengthening procedure to:

  • address cosmetic concerns

  • expose cavities beneath the gum line

  • expose fractured areas of the tooth

  • expose more tooth structure before they can fit a device such as a bridge
