ROOT CANAL TREATMENT (RCT)

Root Canal

Root Canal

Root canal therapy eliminates bacteria from the infected root canal, prevents reinfection of the tooth, and saves the natural tooth. When one undergoes a root canal, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed.

Treatment may be done in one or two appointments. After root canal treatment, your tooth may be tender for the first week or two. Bad pain or swelling is NOT typical. If this happens, please give our office a call.

In most cases, you will need a crown to protect your natural tooth. Most root canal treatments are successful. But in some rare cases, a second treatment is necessary.
